The bachelor of Legislative law is often called LLB after the Latin term Legum Baccalaureus. LLB is an undergraduate course. You have a choice between two courses if you want to be a lawyer. One is the 3-year course for which graduation is necessary. Another is the 5-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.) course for those without graduation. There are other types of integrated courses as well such as BCom. LLB and BBA LLB. The candidates applying for an LLB or LLM (a postgraduate degree) must pass an entrance exam. There are many entrance exams for different colleges such as CLAT, LSAT, AILET, LAWCET, etc.
CLAT - Common Law Admission Test is an all India entrance exam for admission in LLB in 22 National Law Universities in India. Candidates who qualify in CLAT Exam can get admissions in the courses mentioned at 22 NLUs in India.
Candidates should have passed Class 12with at least 45% marks(40% in the case of SC and ST students) from a recognized board or institution. Candidates who will appear in Class 12th board exams in April 2024 are also eligible to appear in the exam. However, the admission of such students is subject to fulfilling the required eligibility criteria.
There is no age limitfor appearing in CLAT exam. Also there are no restrictions on the number of attempts.
The exam consists of 120 questionsincluding a timeframe of 2 hours. 1 mark is awarded for every right answer and negative marking of .25 marksfor every wrong answer.
Questions are asked from English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge ,Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative techniques.
There are approximately 2600 seatsin all colleges and around 50000 students appearfor CLAT exam every year.
As per the notification, CLAT 2024 exam are conducted on 3rd December 2023in offline mode.

If one wants to study in the top institution in the world then you have to give LSAT. The School Admission Test is conducted by the (LSAC) for admission in top schools all around the world. In India alone more than 60 schools consider LSAT scores for the admission of students.
The questions asked in LSAT are multiple choice (MCQ). The no of questions will be around 92-100 The test has to be completed in 140 minutes with 35 minutes given to each 4 sections. All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is the entrance test for admission into National Law University, Delhi.There are only 80 seats in the BA LLB course and 20 seats in LLM.
AILET Exam Pattern
The exam will be conducted offlineand will only consist of objective type questions (MCQ). The exam will consist of 150 questionsand has to be completed in 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes) 1 mark will be provided for every right answer and there is negative marking of .25 marks.
SLAT EXAM
The Symbiosis International University (SIU)conducted SLAT. SLAT is conducted for admission to four law schools of SIU - SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur.
SLAT selection process is divided into three stages
SLAT 2024 entrance exam: It is an objective type exam that consists of 5 sections: legal reasoning, logical reasoning, GK, analytical reasoning, and English comprehension.
WAT (Written Ability Test):The SLAT exam is followed by one descriptive question. If the candidates clear the SLAT cut-off in objective test only then this test is evaluated.
PI (Personal Interview):The candidates who qualify for SLAT and WAT cut-off will get a call for this Interview round. It is the final selection round as per the SLAT Paper Pattern.
SLAT scores- 50 % Weightage, Writing ability test-20 % Weightage,Interview-30% Weightage
The PU entrance exam is conducted by Panjab University Chandigarh for admissions to Five-year BA LLB and B.Com LLB and three-yearLLB coursesat Department of Law Chandigarh and its constituent colleges in Punjab. The exam is held in offline mode in the Month of May/June.
PU LLB EXAM PATTERN
The PU syllabus has three sections - Current Affairs and GK, Legal Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability and English. The PU LLB entrance exam will include a total of 100 objective-type questions and duration of exam is 90 minutes. There are 480 LLB seats in PU law entrance exam.

Legal Aptitude: It is one of the interesting sections and will ask you 20-25 questions based on legal areas of the law of Torts, Legal GK, Law of Contracts and Criminal Law. It is not required from you to have a detailed understanding of the subject matter as it exists only to test your aptitude. To score more in this section try analyzing and solving past papers. Scoring in this section will be beneficial as marks of Legal Aptitude are considered in terms of a tie breaker.
English A total of 20-25 questions are asked from this section and will test your English proficiency. This section is all about comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary. Although the vocabulary and grammar part requires long and consistent efforts but with the help of proper guidance and studying methods they sufficient skills can be obtained in lesser time. The grammar section includes filling in appropriate words, finding errors etc. and practice is the key so practice as much as you can.
Logical Reasoning This section has 20-25 questions and includes questions from analogies, odd man out, statement and assumptions, logical sequences, deduction or syllogism etc. This section is one of the easiest and can make a large difference in the final score. You need to practice this section because if practiced properly it won’t take a lot of time.
Mathematics This section consist of 20-25 questions of the topic like percentage, simple interest, compound interest and mainly all the tenth level mathematics topics. You should take this section seriously and prepare for it accordingly. Although the questions are lesser in compared to other sections but it is vital in improving the overall score.
